When we experience something terrifying we become inoculated against a similar terror re-infecting us, so in future we can remain composed in the face of danger.
The spiritually evolved person becomes animated by such fortitude. Profound inner seriousness cannot be upset by terror. The spiritually superior person is always filled with reverence for the divine, but one should set life in order and search one’s heart in case it harbours some secret opposition.
